PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Some practical information and guidelines to make your stay even more than wonderful:
- Shopping
- or you can give your shopping list to the chef and give money or by Mpesa + afterwards you ask the tickets/receipts/balance
- or you can go together to do shopping with the chef
- or you do shopping yourself in one of the 3 supermarkets nearby:
- Chandarana (on beach road, 5 min driving on beach road): best place, also great grocery store on parking of supermarket ‘mama lucy’
- Carrefour market
- Naivas (on crossroad Ukunda)Shopping
- Fisherman: please ask Chef to call the fisherman for delivery of fresh fish from the ocean (Tuna, red or white snapper, lobster, crab, calamares….
- ‘Wines and More’: great shop near Chandarana supermarket: great place for nice south African and French wines, bubbles and liquors
- Drinking water is provided by us: staff orders for you 20 liter water containers delivered at home for the dispenser in kitchen and pool house
- Tab water is not drinkable! In the bathroom: every day Martha is putting a fresh bottle of drinking water
- Public transport ‘TukTuk’ : pick up and drop off outside the small street (normal price for one way to supermarket or restaurants around: 200-300 Kes (Preferable no pick up or drop off at the house. Don’t let them know where you are staying! Don’t let any strangers come into the house. Also price negotiations about objects you want to buy: have to be done on the street or beach. )
- Taxi service from airport or car rental: call/whatsapp or inform David Maina at entrance of supermarket Chandarana (+254 720 690311)
- Changing money:
- DTB bank next to Carrefour / ATM at Chandarana or Carrefour

- In case of technical problems( heating, electricity, plumbing etc) : first report to
staff and send message to the House manager : Kaat through whatsapp - Remote alarm button in bedrooms : red button : only for safety emergencies
- Charging phones : possible in the bedrooms underneath the bedside lights
(keep main switch of bedside lights above bed on) - A/C in bedrooms: first swith on main switch above bed, than use the remote
- Wifi
